myKlovr.com is a web-application that provides personalized college and career advice. Our Artificial Intelligence engine delivers expert advice to help high-school students get into better colleges. Our professional tools help working adults reevaluate their career direction, channel their passion, get training that will enable them to grow, and manage their personal finances effectively.

Position

This is an entry-to-mid level, full-time product management position.

You will support our highly-experienced head of product in all aspects of product management, with plenty of opportunities to learn. The range of ongoing projects include:

  • Helping envision new functionality for our web-app under guidance from the business, marketing, and product leadership
  • Generating product specifications for new and evolving web-app functions
  • Developing mock-ups and wireframes of user interface designs
  • Project managing an external UI/UX designer
  • Assisting the head of product in prioritizing product features, bug fixes, and other projects
  • Assisting with project management related to development, testing, and delivery of product functionality as well as ongoing product operations
  • Researching and reporting on operating product systems
  • Providing customer support as needed
  • Assisting B2B partners with on-boarding and ongoing operations
  • Performing competitor research
  • Researching and evaluating sub-systems, tools, vendors, and other external resources
  • Conducting and evaluating the results of live user testing studies and surveys

Qualifications

You should have a college degree and 1-3 years full-time experience in technology project management, product management, or product marketing, ideally with a technology-driven company in the web- or mobile space. Ongoing past interaction and exposure to technology or design teams is very valuable. Experience in IT or technology consulting, project management, business operations, UI/UX design, or programming are all good starting places but not mandatory.

You should have:

  • Experience writing product specification or requirements documents
  • Experience participating in UX development
  • Energy, curiosity, and a passion to learn and grow by taking on challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A love of learning and the ability to absorb and use new information quickly
  • Attention to detail and the discipline to dig beyond the surface layer of anything
  • A neat, organized, methodical approach to your work
  • Understanding of programming (any language), HTML, CSS, and how websites work
  • An interest and awareness of UI/UX design principles and an appreciation of great UX
  • A team-player attitude
  • The ability and willingness to speak up in a friendly way when you disagree
  • Good skills with common office tools like spreadsheets, word processing, computer document organization, internet research
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience analyzing data and writing reports

Nice but not necessary:

  • Experience with SQL
  • Understand one or more of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML

Team

We are a small team of 6-7 full time employees, 8-10 contractors, and 5-10 interns. For the time being, we are all working remotely, but we will return to our midtown Manhattan office when we can do so safely. Our CEO has led multiple technology products from concept to operating business to acquisition. Our sales and marketing teams are equally accomplished. We also have a loving company golden retriever, Prada, who visits and inspires us all.

The position reports to the head of product and CTO who has spent the past 15 years building and leading product teams in the digital and mobile space – including development of one of the first successful paid-subscription cell-phone games that peaked at $200 million/year in revenue.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is $70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage as well as short- and long-term disability, and life insurance. Each employee receives an award of appreciation rights which vest over time. We offer 15 days per year PTO, 5 sick days, and company holidays. MyKlovr.com helps high school students get into better colleges and prepare for their careers. We’re a team on a mission. MyKlovr uses artificial intelligence to evaluate a high-school student’s academic record, standardized tests, activities, preferences, and strengths and to present a concrete action plan that will help that student plan for their college admission journey and career.

We are an early-stage company based in mid-town Manhattan. Our small team of experienced professionals has taken myKlovr from concept to market-ready product, and from free-trial users to a rapidly growing foundation of paying corporate clients. We are poised for explosive growth and are growing our team to match our emerging needs. Our founding team has experience in finance, digital and mobile entertainment, high-growth consumer products, technology consulting, and partnership and channel sales.

We are seeking a marketing director with 4-6 years’ experience supporting digital or mobile products in both B2B and B2C contexts.

A position with myKlovr offers you high visibility, the ability to impact our performance directly, access to experienced leaders, daily learning opportunities, and the ability to grow rapidly.

Your core mission will be to create and optimize a general marketing effort to:

  • raise awareness of myKlovr’s product among target audiences (mid- to large employers) using low-cost direct- and guerilla marketing techniques (LinkedIn, white-papers, PR)
  • help our sales team communicate our message to prospects and win their interest (presentations, brochures, white-papers)
  • promote our service to the employees of employers who offer myKlovr as a benefit (email campaigns, maybe PDF or even print)
  • encourage ongoing engagement by parents and high-school students who use myKlovr (email, text)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute marketing communication plans and schedules
  • Generate and refine sales support materials
  • Generate, schedule, and traffic blog posts using contract writers
  • Manage generation, distribution, and performance monitoring of press releases
  • Manage communications for user onboarding and post-sign-up engagement campaigns
  • Manage our corporate website (WordPress)
  • Manage an internal team of graphic design interns and external resources as needed
  • Collaborate with distribution partners and corporate clients on the presentation of the myKlovr product within their own websites and platforms (copywriting, propose and evaluate designs)
  • Assist the sales team in preparing client proposals and RFI responses
  • Additional reasonable duties as needed
  • Adhere to company policies regarding data security, confidentiality, attendance, and office conduct

Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with US college application process from high school
  • Available to work 9A – 6P, M-F in our mid-town Manhattan office with occasional late evenings, often without advance notice (Current environment is work-from-home due to COVID-19 restrictions)

Position

We are looking for data analyst / scientist interns to learn and help us evolve our data product. As we are a small and dynamic team, the interns will have an opportunity to do "real" work, learn how to manage large datasets to create product features around our data and make an impact at a company which prides itself on data-driven solutions.

Internship start and end-dates are flexible. We are currently seeking applicants interested in an internship starting August to September 2020 and extending either through December 2020 or May 2021.

Internship Projects

Data Analyst / Scientist Interns may be asked to participate in one or more of the following projects, depending on their interests and skills as well as current business needs:

  • Gather and cleanse data and information from the web using modern scraping techniques
  • Manipulate data via Python and leveraging packages Numpy and Pandas to derive findings from the data
  • Model out results of school and student data using clustering and supervised learning methods
  • Manage data systems of a data-centric organization with growing business needs and vast changes
  • And more

Responsibilities

Typical projects might include helping to craft the vision for enhancing our current data systems. This involves improving our existing infrastructure, enhancing some of our models and conducting data analysis Our projects require an analytical mindset and with a penchant for numbers, statistics and programming. A technical degree is not a requirement; however, you will need to have a base knowledge of Python and some data management and manipulation skills.

Requirements

Data Analyst / Scientist Interns can come from different backgrounds so long as they are data hungry and show passion for anything around data. At the same time, applicants should be:

Compensation and Benefits

This is an unpaid internship although we offer a $100/month stipend to cover commuting expenses. Interns should be available at least two half-days per week to work in our office in Midtown Manhattan.
